This policy covers soma-consult.com.et — the SOMA Civil Engineering & Architecture Consultant website, our client/staff/admin portal, and our free browser tools (SomaBOQ Calculator, Site Log, Rebar Cutting Optimizer, and the Section Drawing Generator).
What we collect
- Portal accounts: full name, email, phone, and — where required for engagement contracts — Fayda National ID and region, when you register for the client portal.
- Contact & newsletter forms: the name and email you provide, sent directly to our inbox via your email client — we don't store these separately on our server.
- Free tools (SomaBOQ, Site Log, Rebar Optimizer, Section Drawing): these run entirely in your browser. Any data you enter (quantities, site logs, cutting lists) stays on your device and is never sent to our servers, unless you explicitly export or email a report yourself.
- Basic analytics: standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for security and performance monitoring.
How we use it
- To operate your portal account — authentication, project updates, and audit logging for security.
- To respond to inquiries submitted through the contact form or newsletter signup.
- To maintain and improve the security and performance of our website and tools.
What we don't do
- We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.
- We do not use the free tools' calculations for anything beyond what happens in your own browser session.
- We do not display third-party advertising on this site.
Data retention & your rights
Portal account data is retained for as long as your account is active, or as required for legitimate business/legal record-keeping. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your portal account data at any time by contacting us at soma.consult.48@gmail.com.
Cookies & local storage
The portal uses a session cookie required for you to stay signed in, and an optional "remember me" cookie if you choose that option at login. The free tools may use your browser's local storage to save your in-progress work (e.g. a site log draft) on your own device — this data never leaves your browser.
